Social Commerce: Going toward a Web 3.0?

I don't really think web 3.0 is the proper term but however, it is the one used in this article. It has been written after the shop.org 2007 summit, that gather professionals from the on line retail market.

The web 3.0 would be a web 2.0 version enhanced with artificial intelligence. The goal of this new trend is to develop social commerce. Indeed, on line shopping is getting more and more interactive, customers are able to leave comments about the products on amazon, or can log on blogs to get information and advices about the product.

Even though this article is not announcing a true web 3.0 revolution, it pictures well how the web 2.0 tools will help e-retailers to create what is called social commerce, which I think is a very appropriate term. It also shows e-retailer are more and more focusing on the customer shopping experience, which is also a great trend to follow.
